FeneVision Tempering System

The typical operation of a tempering oven is inefficient and prone to operator error. The operation of the tempering department typically operates as follows:

  • A glass batch is cut and individual lites are placed on harp carts.
  • The carts are then delivered to the seamer where individual lites are taken from the harp carts seamed; a logo is applied and then returned to its proper cart slot.
  • The carts are then delivered to the tempering oven where an operator feeds the lites into the tempering oven.
  • As lites exit the tempering oven operators measure the lites to determine which label to apply to the lite and place the lite in the correct harp and slot.

This method of operation is labor intensive, generally provides inefficient use of the capital equipment and allows much room for human error.

A touch screen display is used to allow the operator to indicate the sequence the lites are fed to the tempering oven. Workstations along the tempering line display the lites that are currently at that location and allows the user to reject lites as needed. At the end of the quench correct slot locations are displayed along with reject information.

The FeneVision Tempering Software provides visual tools to facilitate the flow of production through your tempering department, reduce work in process, increase utilization of your capital equipment and minimize the human error component.
